Everyone Loves a Candy Comic Book

Hailing from Japan, Candy Candy (キャンディ・キャンディ) is a 1970s Japanese anime series featuring "Candy", an American orphan with freckles, and sweetly styled blonde hair. Written by Kyoko Mizuki and illustrated by Yiumiko Igarashi, they were also made into TV series, movies and a multitude of cute products. Also, popular in France and Canada, Igarashi adapted Candy Candy for the French speaking markets.

America's "favorite teenage girl" was also called Candy, and she graced comic covers from the late 40's til the 1960s. Candy was a "typical" teen; she got into trouble, rode her bike and went to dances. Reading the comics will be fun for candy lovers who enjoy pop culture of all things sweet.
